‘Borgen – Power and Glory’ deals with some of the biggest political issues of our time; the relevance of the Danish Realm in the modern world, the superpowers’ battle for control of the Arctic, America’s role on the global stage, China’s entry onto the international political scene – and not least – the climate crisis.

Birgitte Nyborg (Sidse Babett Knudsen) is the newly appointed minister for foreign affairs when a drilling company suddenly discovers oil in Greenland. This marks the beginning of an international power struggle in the Arctic. Nyborg is forced to accept that Denmark is the minor player when it comes to negotiating the relationship between the international superpowers on one side and Greenland and the Danish Kingdom on the other.
